I have a new CP. She’s working on Untitled Action Book. So far, it’s going okay. She pointed out something that might be an issue. But she hasn’t finished the book yet, so I won’t post about it until I know for sure it’s a problem. O_o She also read my YA Romance Fantasy and enjoyed that. Says it has a lot of potential, but agreed with the editor that it needs to be rewritten. I might work on that book next.
As for #lovetriangle, it’s going well. I’m running into issues trying to beef it up. Honestly, it’s hard coming up with content when the book isn’t a high fantasy. I have no problem filling a book with journeys, epic gods, and a huge cast of characters. But with a romance, you’re a little more limited. I understand if maybe you’re writing an adventure romance, but this isn’t an adventure book. Neither was Untitled Action Book. That’s partly why that book was so short. But this book can’t be short. It’s got to be longer. I’ve been reading books on writing, hoping it’ll give me ideas on how to add more content. I’m trying to world-build, so that’s helping. It’s still early in the plotting phase. I have time. There’s no rush with this book.
I’ve decided firmly that the book is being told from the perspective of three characters, a man and two women. I’m reading an erotic romance called Caine’s Reckoning by Sarah McCarty which is told from the perspective of two characters, but it’s strange because it swaps perspectives in mid paragraph between the two people. I’m not a fan of that. I’m sticking to the style I wrote my previous book in and swapping perspectives between chapters. I don’t believe I would categorize Untitled Action Book as an erotic romance. I was reading what exactly defines an erotic romance and the line between that and a romance and erotica is pretty blurry. Either way, #lovetriangle is definitely going to be more direct romance than Untitled Action Book, with equal parts romance and thriller.
Well, that’s all for now. It’ll be a while before I start writing this book. I might not even be ready by January 1st. This outline is going to be a long one if I want this book to hit 90,000 words. I just have to keep reading books so I can stay inspired and get more ideas for content. I have the main plotlines down, but they aren’t enough for a 90,000 word story. Wish me luck!
